Bulldogs are recognized by their iconic wrinkles, precious squished sour mug faces, and adorable stocky build. Regardless of breed, all bulldogs have that standout muscular build with a pushed in nose, small ears, and rolling gait. They have a smooth coat that comes in a variety of colors. Some are classified as large dogs while other breeds are more of a tiny dogs.
Bulldogs loves curling up in your lap, they are completely lazy and enjoys moderate exercise. Bulldogs are a popular choice made by many U.S families.
It’s also important to read up on their breeds as these cuties are unfortunately more prone to respiratory, spinal, and skin issues. They look and act powerful and confident, but all bulldogs need lots of love and care. If you are considering adopting a bulldog, familiarize yourself with the following type of bulldogs before adopting one to into your home.

American Bulldog

American Bulldogs are gentle giants who are happy to play with you and your children. Despite their powerful looks, they are so affectionate, intelligent, and protective, which makes them great family dogs. However, the members of this breed also have high exercise need and require an active pet parent.
This breed is characterized by a large, square head, broad and square muzzle, with powerful jaws. Their eyes are commonly brown, or either almond-shaped or round. The ears are typically folded forward in flap and the lips are pendulous.
American Bulldog is a walking contradiction: powerful yet friendly, serious but silly. These dogs are industrious, bred to work on farms and ranches. You’ll enjoy a range of activities with this active and quite clever breed.

AMBULL Appearance

Their weights and heights varies, the AmBull should stand around 50 to 70cm and weigh between 27 to 54kg. They should be lean and muscular rather than soft and over-weight (sadly most of them are soft and over-weight), they are broad headed and broad shouldered giving an overall impression of a massive dog rather than just being tall.

AMBULL Personality

Ambulls are excellent with people, however with other dogs they are far and less easy going and socialization is vital and then, caution should be exercised. AMbulls are easy to train, they are quick learners. On the other hand, they’re very affectionate and never displays hostility or aggression towards their family or people they trust.

AMBULL Lifespan

The average lifespan is about 11.5 years (American Bulldogs typically live from 10-16 years. Out of all the Bulldog breeds, American Bulldog is the healthiest. It’s has the longest life expectancy and fewer genetic health problem.
Care Tips
• Grooming: American Bulldogs are low maintenance as they don’t shed profusely. They don’t need regular bath, unless they become dirty. Regular brushing is needed in order to keep their coat clean and shiny. Their nails should be trimmed every couple of weeks, their ears should be cleaned once a month, and their teeth needs regular brushing.
• Nutrition: Due to their muscular and very active nature, they require food that is rich in meat and omega-3 fatty acids but a low level of carbohydrates, to prevent weight gain. There are breeds that are prone to weight gain, if this is you; put an eye on your pet’s food consumed and/or consult your vet for a special diet.
• Training and Exercise: These breeds are very energetic and athletic dogs that require a lot of exercise and a wide range of activities and constant stimulation and don’t like being alone.
Training classes for puppies and early socialization are highly recommended. American Bulldogs require strict training and routines, with positive reinforcement in order to retain proper boundaries.
American Bulldogs are powerful, effective, passionate, and protective pets. Their love for children makes them great option for family. The breed is considered health, but some are prone to certain health issues such as hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, bone cancer, cherry eye etc.
